Scotland day 1

In October 2025. I went with my husband to Scotland for My 50th Birthday and our 21st wedding Anniversary. We visited Loch Morlich in the Cairngorms, the Isle of Skye and Glen Coe, we made our last stop at Loch Leven in Kinross, before heading home. See Gallery below and if there are any you would be interested in, please contact me.

Scotland day 2

On day 2, we started at Loch Cluanie, and then headed over to the Isle of Skye, where we made a brief stop at the old Sligachan bridge and then headed to our campsite, which by the time we arived was dark and stormy.

Scotland day 3

On Day 3 we started at a wet and windy Glenbrittle Campsite, head to Elgol beach, then North to Our next campsite Kinloch, near Loch Dunvegan.

Scotland day 4

On day 4 in Scotland, we started the day with a beautiful sunrise at the edge of the loch. Our first visit was to see the Old Man of Storr ( a rock formation), a quick visit to a nearby waterfall and, then a brief visit to the famous Kilt rock falls. On the way out of Skye got a brief shot of Portree. Finally ended up seeing the Highland cows at cluanie farm. They were all congregating away from the fence, so i went and got my zoom lens and took many cow pictures from the car park, included here are some favourites.

Scotland day 5

On day 5, I really wanted to see the 3 sisters and Buchialle etive mor, we explored the 3 sisters mountains, but couldnt find Buchialle etive more, google maps was not giving clear directions, so we ended up down near Skyfall waterfall area.... never did find what I was looking for, but it was still beautiful.

Scotland day 6 and the morning of day 7

On day 6 we stopped in the village of invermoriston and went to view the amazing waterfalls , including from the little Summer house. We then made a stop to view the famous Loch Ness, unfortunately the monster was photo shy (lol). After a quick look at urquhart Castle and ben Nevis, we started to head South and ended up in the car park at Loch Leven ( South Scotland) and on the morning of our last day before taking the van back, we witnessed the most stunning sunset, where the sky just exploded with colour.

Scotland Nightscapes

The weather only gave us 1 window of clear skies, and that was in Glencoe, South of Fort William. We were lost and someone directed us to a suitable spot to park for the night, I struggled to fnd a good composition, the night did not go well,  I struggled to get sharp star focus, but because of intermittent clouds, settled on less than sharp, I also lost a lens to a tripod crash... at least it wasn't the camera. I managed to get two compositions, the Winter arc with a cheeky bit of aurora photobombing and the Winter circle. Anyway, I wish I could have done things different, but you can't change the past, only learn from mistakes.
