Aurora Borealis May 10/11th 2024 and October 10/11th 2024
These images were taken at Andrew's Mare Pond, near Minstead, New Forest, Hampshire on 10-11th May 2024 and October 10-11th 2024. I chose this location because, I wanted to get the aurora reflected in the pond. It was an amazing experience, both times. In the may 2024 aurora, which was the biggest predicted aurora in 20 years, I swotted up on some, 'how to shoot aurora' from a module, in my Milky way magic course, by Kristine Rose Photography. Then I went to this location, with the intention of getting, not only the Aurora, but also reflections of it, in the pond. I got myself set up and ready, then, as soon as it got dark, the aurora was visible through my camera very clearly. I took many images on 3 cameras that night and also saw some columns that looked like diffuse laser displays. In October, I wasn't as lucky with the weather or timing, I had to go to cubs first, and there was a lot of cloud. I was battling cloud for most of the night, but got a brief clear spell in the early hours of the morning, however, I was so excited to see some vivid red through the clouds, which if it had been clear, I would have seen a Sar arc, but seeing that vivid red through the clouds, I was doing a happy excited bounce ( jumping up and down). There have been a number of aurora's since, none of which I have managed to see, either because of weather or bad timing, or pointing my camera in the wrong place, etc, but at least I have seen two amazing ones in the south of the UK

Winter Milky way
As much as the summer Milky way season is the main favourite, I also love the winter Milky way and Orion, and since having my camera astro-modified, it allows the camera to capture more of the pink nebula in the winter skies

Moon eclipse and comet T
In October of 2024 we had the visit of Comet Tsuchinshan–ATLAS, Although I missed the main brightness of it, I was still able to capture it before it faded away, against the backdrop of a dead tree in Bolderwood, New Forest, Hampshire. The partial eclipse of the moon was in March 2025, I was only able to capture it up to about 95% eclipse before it disappeared into haze and daylight, but I put together a composite from fully illuminated to approximately 90% eclipsed
